An Angry Birds 'social' game (and three others) is in the works for 2012

So, we're just going to assume that by "social", Rovio game designer Jaako Iisalo means "Facebook". During the Social Games and Virtual Goods World conference in London, England, the Angry Birds designer told Pocket Gamer that four new Angry Birds games will launch next year. More specifically, one of them will be a "social" game.

And, will you look at that, Angry Birds is already on Google+. Granted, there are versions of the iconic everywhere mobile game on Facebook, but none of which seem legitimate. (One even seems to stream the Google Chrome version of Angry Birds through to Facebook.) While this could just as easily mean an Angry Birds game on a mobile platform with heavier social features, the developer has said in the past that the franchise will hit Facebook.

Honestly, how Angry Birds is available on the Intel AppUp store and in retail stores across Europe before officially on Facebook is beyond us. At any rate, we can likely expect these other three Angry Birds games to tap into new genres, since Rovio has expressed interest in exploring new types of games for its irate avian creatures. And just when you started to grow bored of it.

Would you play Angry Birds on Facebook more than elsewhere? What other genres would you like to see the Angry Birds characters take a part in?

Angry Birds is the top game on Google+ Games, Rovio exec says

Where else will the Angry Birds crash land into and dominate? Nintendo 3DS? Xbox 360? Your scientific calculator? Who knows, but according to All Things Digital, Rovio SVP of brand advertising and analytics Wibe Wagemans said yesterday at the Mobile Future Forward conference in Seattle, Wash. that Angry Birds is the number on game on Google+ Games.

Granted, that's out of all 16 games on the platform right now, but some of those games were put there by the likes of major social game creators like Zynga, Wooga, EA and Playdom. Wagemans, formerly an executive on Microsoft's Bing team, went on to say that Rovio has grown faster in the past two years than companies like MySpace, YouTube, Amazon and Skype. He also said, "We are now the fastest-growing consumer brand in history," ATD reports.

When you think about it, though: Not only is the Angry Birds game on nearly every gaming platform under the sun, but the little wingless cartoons and their amorphous green piglet enemies have been transformed into plush toys, t-shirts, board games, cook books, a feature film--need I go on?

During his talk in Seattle, Wageman revealed that Rovio welcomes over 120 million monthly Angry Birds players across the myriad of platforms the game is available on. Simply put, the western world is hooked on Angry Birds (it's science, remember?) and soon so will the East, if Rovio has any say in it. Sure, that's less than half of the 273 million or so monthly players Zynga caters to on Facebook alone, to which Wageman said, "We haven't even launched on Facebook yet." Oh ... oh, no.

Are you one of the 120 million or more devoted Angry Birds fans? Do you think Rovio could compete directly with Zynga when Angry Birds launches on Facebook?

Angry Birds Seasons Halloween update means a new bird is in town

Oh, and let's not forget about the 30 "bone-chilling" new levels and the bunch of new Game Center achievements to earn. Rovio unleashed a new update to Angry Birds Seasons today, and confirmed our suspicions that a new bird was in the works.

We're not sure of the new avian's name, but at least we know what it does. This orange little bugger isn't much of anything when first launched, but tap the screen while it's in midair and the bird will balloon several times its size.

Of course, this means it'll gain an enormous amount of weight, so the bird might be ideally used once inside a pig structure. The list of Game Center achivements to earn includes defeating 300 skeletons, finishing all 30 new stages, earning three stars on every level and more. And, like all Angry Birds updates, this one is absolutely free.
Angry Birds Seasons update
Well, given that you've already purchased Angry Birds Seasons for the buck. Look, we may be sick of Angry Birds around here, but not even we can help getting just a little giddy over a newly announced bird. This must be the power Rovio has over everyone else--must ... fight it ... but, I need that bird. And I just bought it. Now we have a better idea as to how Angry Birds might be worth more than $1 billion.

[Via Pocket Gamer]

Check out the rest of our Halloween coverage right here.

You've already downloaded the update, too, haven't you? For how much longer do you think Rovio can keep up the Angry Birds planet-like gravitational pull?

Something is a brewin' for the Angry Birds this Halloween [Video]

The clip sees three tiny blue birds dressed up to trick-or-treat (likely the largely useless cluster birds) come across a spooky camp ground and a bucket with, well, something inside of it. Since the update is undoubtedly Halloween-themed, we're going to guess that this is an update to Angry Birds Seasons. And it almost seems as if a new bird or enemy will join the peeved off little birds.

Adiction-simplicity ratio.

Remember Pac Man, Tetris, Asteroids, Pong?If your answer is yes, then you are the same as hundreds of thousands of gamers who have a memory relating one or more of those games. But since then, things in the gaming industry have changed, but does that mean that there are no longer programmers as creative as Toru Iwatani or Alexey Pajitnov?
I know what you're gonna say, graphics and advanced technology together with how they are being combined and utilized is creative, but do the games match that creativeness?Yes,today we have games such as Call Of Duty: Black Ops, Halo Reach, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Fallout New Vegas,Assassins Creed etc. which are incredible games and have broken barriers in one way or another, however, can you compare the adiction-simplicity ratio with that of Pac Man?
Maybe it's the big companies that numb (in some way) the mind of the programmer, trying to be always ahead of the competition by focusing on ONE game and its yearly release (no offense).Maybe they should encourage the creativity of its programmers...who knows what some of them might come up with.

Angry Birds 3-16 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-16 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using two angry birds.
Level 3 16 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the ground right in front of you. This bird is useless for this level, so just throw it away, but do NOT take down any of the structure.
  2. Aim the second angry bird to drop his egg bomb right down the middle of the structure. This will get all of the pigs.

Angry Birds 3-18 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-18 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using four angry birds.
Level 3 18 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at a high angle to take out the pig on the far right. Do NOT knock over the front structure.
  2. Aim the second angry bird at a low angle to smash straight through the vertical wood blocks on the front structure. This should clear out the front structure as well as getting the pig on the left.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at the rock floor, just to the left of the pig on the far left. It should break through one block of wood and get one pig, leaving a vertical wooden support beam.
  4. Aim the fourth angry bird right at the inside corner of the exposed wooden support beam and drop the egg right before the bird hits. This will get you the last pigs. It needs to be done this way to get enough points for three stars.

Angry Birds 3-19 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-19 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using three angry birds.
Level 3 19 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the top left corner of the indicated stone structure. you want the bird to bounce back to the left to set off the TNT. This will cause a reaction in order to get all but two pigs.
  2. Aim the second angry bird at the round rock on the top right. Sometimes you can have the bird bounce back and take out the helmeted pig, but I always had touble getting enough points with that. I think it is best to just let the round rock take out the big pig on the bottom right.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at the blocks of wood under the last TNT block. That will let you get the last pig and enough points for three stars.

Angry Birds 3-20 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-20 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using three angry birds.
Level 3 20 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the top left corner of the structure on the right. You need to take out all five birds on the right side.
  2. Aim the second angry bird and drop it’s egg bomb right in the middle of the main structure to clear out a bit of the rock.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at a high angle to break through the middle of the main structure that you jsut cleared out. Do NOT let the bird get all the way to the ground before exploding. I found it best to detonate it early right as it goes through the ceiling rocks in order to get the last pigs.

Angry Birds 3-21 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-21 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.

High Score: 115,850
Difficulty: Hard

You can get all three stars in this level by only using six angry birds.

Level 3 21 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds

Aim the first angry bird at the inside corner , just past the second helmeted pig. You want to take out one helmeted pig, and one other pig, weakening the structure.
Aim the second angry bird just a tad lower than the first bird. You want it to smash as far into the structure as you can. You want to take out four pigs on the right side of the structure.
Aim the third angry bird in order to weaken the structure right on top of the big pig. It almost seems like this bird was a waste in my pictures and I think the indicated spot should be shifted to the right a little. Anyway, this pig didn’t do too much.
Aim the fourth angry bird into the main structure to take out as many blocks as possible, including the biggest pig.
Aim the fifth angry bird to take out the remaining pig on the left.
Aim the sixth angry bird to take out the remaining pig on the right.
You should have one pig left to give you some bonus points.

The Angry Birds Rio Info – Probably the most well-known iPhone applications this season is the puzzle mobile game known as Angry Birds produced by Rovio Mobile located in Finland. It stayed on the list of the most popular and the most played video game statistics of numbers of downloaded copies gathered by Apps Market, since it was initially launched in December 2009 for Apple’s iOS. It stayed in that position for quite sometime now!

Angry Birds game recorded a 12 million of copies downloaded in just 10 days of launching! It made more millions in downloads and also millions of dollars in profits for Rovio with these new apps upgrades.

After the enormous success of the Angry Birds in SmartPhones, The version adopted having a tougher and much more fun level relevant with other platforms like PSP, PC and a lot more.

When Rovio ventured into movie making, with the partnership with 20th Century Fox they came up with the summer animated adventure movie titled Angry Birds Rio. It’s a story about a Macaw, (a bird specie) who haven’t found the courage to fly. Who went to Rio de Janiero to look for the other last bird like him in existence, but was kidnapped buy a group of rare animal hunters; right after he arrived in the magical city of Rio. Angry Birds Game Rules

Catapulting Birds at little green pigs covered in wooden, glass and metal planks isn’t as silly and easy as you think. You have to fling the birds at the platforms using the perfect angle that could destroy all the green pigs in the level. Much more than this is that you must only use the birds you’re given, no more, no less. Here are some of the best Angry Birds Game rules you ought to know.
  1. Using a slingshot, players launch the birds to hit the pigs directly and damage the structures, which would cause them to collapse and kill the pigs. On each level, the pigs are sheltered by structures made of various materials such as wood, ice and stone, making it harder for you to destroy them.
  2. If you destroy all the green pigs in the level and still have some birds left then they will get you extra points going towards your final level score. If you get a low score, such as using all your birds and not destroy many platforms you will get only one star, but still move on.
  3. As the player advances through the game, additional types of birds become available. These birds have special abilities that are activated by the player after the bird has been launched.
  4. Part of the angry birds game rules is that points are scored for each pig defeated as well as for damage to, or destruction of, structures, and bonus points are awarded for any unused birds.

The Release of Angry Birds Game to Android

The much awaited release of the Angry Birds game for the Android was finally unveiled, and largely under estimated by Rovio itself. It has effectively brought the website to a screeching halt due to the enormous demand and download rate of Android users. Even the independent app store, GetJar, which was given exclusive rights to distribute the game, has had some serious slow down and lag issues due to the games popularity and huge fan base. So much so that GetJar has actually recommended users to visit their mobile website from their phones so that can achieve better download rates and alleviate some of the bandwidth from their main site.
Some may ask what is the big deal over the Angry Birds game being released for the Android. Well, for one it is the most popular and successful paid app from the iPhone market and sold more than seven million copies according to VentureBeat, but mainly the commotion is due because the game is being offered for free in its new ad-supported version. The app is not yet offered as a paid version for those who rather pay and not have the ads, but it is in the works and should be offered and available for download from the Android Market soon.
Rovio’s Peter in an interview about the Angry Birds game said that it was being used more than sixty five million minutes per day with just the iPhone paid app and that now with the release of the Android version he predicts that it will rise to be used over one hundred minutes per day.
When Angry Birds game was released for Android GetJar was given exclusive rights to distribute the game for the first twenty four hours before being released to the Android Market. This is a huge deal to help GetJar, a large crossplatform online app store, get a huge boost to help their online awareness. They have been trying to change that through these types of affiliation and now that have gotten a huge break.
Rovio has shown the strength of the Android population with its release of the Angry Birds game online. Android users are definitely growing in numbers and will most certainly surpass those of the iPhone. When Android was first unveiled I was so happy that there was now a competitor to the iPhone, and what better company to be behind all this than Google. Google is out reaching their never ending amount of tentacles and getting into more and more markets every year. Google is definitely a smart and ambitious company and every product they put out is well made and open source, readily available for developers and even made easy for users who want to venture into the development world. As for the Android the only problem so far seems to be the lack of programing rules and restrictions for making apps because many of the apps on the market are poorly programmed and make the Android powered phones encounter problems; though I’m sure that soon those sub-par programs will be weeded out by good developers making quality bug free applications.
Anyway, back to the Angry Birds game, keep a lookout for new platform releases for all of your computing and entertainment devices. Also, stay tuned here at AngryBirdsGame.biz for the latest information and updates about Angry Birds updates, maybe we’ll get new birds soon, and Rovio latest information.

Angry Birds Game About To Surpass 100 Million Downloads

The #1 mobile app Angry Birds game is continuing to broaden its lead over the competition! Angry Birds game is at the verge of surpassing 100 million downloads, as announced by Rovio at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. The Angry Birds game has only been out for less than a year and yet it’s stomping on the competition. Rovio, Angry Birds game developer, announced at the conference that it will be surpassing the 100 million download mark in the very near future. Peter Vesterbaka, Rovio’s executive, spoke at the conference and graciously thanked the iPhone for making their success possible. Peter Vesterbaka went on about how Apple allowed for this change in the business and that the iPhone took developers away from the old soviet style of games and giving them so many more fun and exciting avenues for the development. He also mentioned that it’s forcing more and more developers to create good quality games, which has been the legacy of the App Store. He then continued about positive future of the mobile gaming industry boosting that new consoles are making games based on mobile games where up until recently it was always the other way around. And also mentioning that companies that are just porting console games over to mobile doesn’t always work.
With the success of the Angry Birds game through the iPhone it has since been ported over to other platforms such as Android, PC, and iPad, and soon to be available for Windows 7 phones as well as various video game consoles and hand helds.
The fact that Angry Birds game is about to surpass 100 million downloads in less than a year is quite an amazing feat. Of course it’s success is mostly due to its brilliant gameplay, fun theme, and replay value; it’s not to say that Rovio has not put in hard work for its success. Since its original release in December of 2009, Rovio has released several new versions for their fans through the Angry Birds game Seasons package, including Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day (Hogs and Kisses), and soon to be released St. Patrick’s Day theme, and probably an Easter theme! Angry Birds Game Flying To Windows Phone 7 And 3D

It is official the Angry Birds game will soon be released to Windows Phone 7, and if that wasn’t enough, Rovio’s Peter Vesterbaka says that a 3D version of the game is also in the works! Yes you heard, or read, right, a 3D version of Angry Birds!
The Angry Birds game coming out for Windows Phone 7 was of course obviously expected, but a 3D version…Rovio is certainly pulling out all the stops and not wasting anytime doing it. As one might imagine the 3D version will more than likely be released for the Nintendo 3DS as well as it will probably eventually be released for the new 3D smartphones in production such as the LG Optimus 3D.
The transformation of the Angry Birds game to a 3D version should not be too big of a deal for Rovio as they have produced 3D games in the past. But it sure is exciting to think how the game will turn out. Maybe there will be like a first person point of view (Angry Bird Point of View) where you’re looking through the birds eyes as he flies through 3D sky blue space and comes crashing down on the greedy green pigs, or also maybe even a “Piggy Point of View” as he watches inevitability come for him, ooooo. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Rovio has yet to announce a release date for neither Windows Phone 7 nor a 3D version, but I am sure it will be sooner than later, Rovio never seems to disappoint. With their hard work, dedication, and fan appreciation, Rovio has sure shown themselves to be a force to be recon with. It’s good to see a deserving company do well, and we can hope that this will be a wake up to other companies in the industry as well as a sign for things to come; quality not quantity, though Rovio seems to have been able to supply both.

Angry Birds Game Flying to Facebook

The Angry Birds game is the #1 mobile game in the market, and as it’s getting ready to surpass the 100 million downloads mark, Rovio has announced that the Angry Birds game is flying into Facebook.
The ever so popular Angry Birds game is getting ready to couple itself with the most popular social network, Facebook, outreaching to even more potential consumers across the globe. The game is scheduled to be launched onto Facebook in about a month, says the Angry Birds Facebook page.
The Angry Birds game online has been out for less than a year, and the feats it has accomplished is nothing less the astonishing. On the verge of surpassing the 100 million downloads threshold, the game is now available on so many various platforms such as iOS, Android, PC, WebOS, Symbian, and consoles and handhelds planned for the near future. But now with an expansion to Facebook, one can only imagine the level of dominance it will reach compared to its competitors in the industry. So now the question is, how will the Facebook version of Angry Birds Game differ from the mobile version we’ve come to know and love? Well according to Rovio, the new Facebook version will apparently give the green piggies their shot at glory! How fun and exciting does that sound!? According to Mikael Hed, Rovio’s CEO, Angry Birds game Facebook version will have totally new features to the game. And for those who don’t already know, this Facebook expansion is not the only effort Rovio has made to expand their product. Of course a company must have a good product in order to have success, but sometimes that is just not enough. Rovio is a great example of how hard work and customer appreciation pays off. Ever since their original release of the Angry Birds game they have continuously been releasing new episodes and versions via their Seasons package as well as making the game available in practically every capable mobile platform. On top of that they have a special version scheduled to be released this month, Angry Birds Rio, which is a direct collaboration with the upcoming Disney film Rio. And even more impressive was the announcement from Peter Vesterbaka, Rovio’s head honcho, that they are planning on producing a movie based entirely on the Angry Birds game!
Needless to say Rovio has done a steller job marketing their product, and this union with Facebook is sure to bring Angry Birds colossal heights.

Angry Birds Game is the Main Attraction of Amazon’s Appstore Grand Opening

The grand opening of Amazon’s Appstore has arrived, with none other than the Angry Birds Game as its main attraction!
Amazon will be offering the all new Angry Birds Rio version for free! You heard right free, but you need to act fast because it will only be free during the opening day of March 21st! Not to worry too much though, the regular price for Angry Birds Rio is only $0.99 thanks to their ever generous developers Rovio; though I am sure that many of the hard core of fans of this amazingly popular game will be acting fast on this promotion.
Amazon’s Appstore can be accessed either straight from your Android phone or through web by visiting amazon.com/appstore. The Appstore is an app just like the Android Market is so you will have to download and install it to your phone if you want the ease of use of the app, but again you can always just access it through the web at the address mentioned above. The Amazon Appstore launched with over 3,800 apps, which is certainly no slouch, but of course still pales in comparison to the 200,000 some apps available in the Android Market. So Amazon certainly has their work cut out for themselves if they want to compete in this market.
More over though, Amazon is offering a really cool feature through their web based Appstore. It’s their Test Drive feature, makes use of the “cloud” (which is the future of all programs, apps, and gaming by the way) to allow a buyer to test run any app through their browser for half an hour without having to install it on their device before deciding if they really want to purchase it or not. Another great promotion method Amazon is intending is they will offer a single app for free every day to help get their new Appstore rolling.
Amazon also announced that they will be undercutting Google Android Market prices for many apps. So be sure to check both fronts when app shopping. A question some have been asking is, why are these special Amazon promotions not being offered for Apple’s App Store apps. Perhaps the answer is because of Android’s Market openness versus Apple’s closed App Store model.
So, is Amazon’s presence in the app store industry good or bad for Android? Though some may argue that having multiple sources to download and purchase the same apps can make the experience a bit more convoluted for the users and cause fragmentation in the Android community, I believe that competition is healthy not only for the industry but for the competitors as well. Google sees this, and I believe is why they have aloud this to happen. Apple on the other hand, with their closed framework I think will eventually have a hard time keeping up in the future in an open source environment, which in turn will benefit Google; that’s just my thinking anyway.
