FarmVille Lighthouse Cove: New items come with sale prices for a limited time

On top of releasing new items in the FarmVille marketplace this evening, Zynga has also given us an extra incentive to go shopping by placing (most of these) new items on sale, but only for a limited time. These items come in the Lighthouse Cove theme, which, as you'll recall means that you can either place them on your Lighthouse Cove proper, or can place them on other farms as well. Just remember that if you purchase them on your Home or English farm and then want to move them to the Lighthouse Cove, you won't be able to move them back and forth until we've been given the ability to access storage across all three farms. Without further ado, here's a look at this week's available items.

Trees

Autumn Cherry Tree - 5 Farm Cash (down from 8)
Bradford Pear Tree - 10 Farm Cash (down from 14)

The Autumn Cherry Tree is the level one tree in this equation, meaning you can earn Bradford Pear Trees for free from Mystery Seedlings. These sale prices bring the trees back down to the prices we used to see trees priced at normally, so make sure to snag one (some) if those cheaper prices are acceptable to you.

Animals

Brown Maine Coon - 8 Farm Cash (down from 10)
Brown Pinto Mini - 22 Farm Cash (down from 26)

The Brown Maine Coon is simply a brown version of the original Maine Coon that's available for 200,000 coins, permanently. It does, however, come with its own mastery sign, so you'll need to splurge on at least one if you want to be eligible to earn it. As for the Brown Pinto Mini, this is a new horse that gives you 2,600 experience points upon purchasing it.

Buildings

Fisherman's Shack - 16 Farm Cash (down from 20)
New England Inn - 30 Farm Cash

If you're taking the supposed "purpose" of Lighthouse Cove seriously (that being to create a building-centric resort town), you'll be happy to see that this Fisherman's Shack placed on sale, as you'll be able to further flesh out that building with this "home" for even cheaper than before. Interestingly, the New England Inn isn't on sale, but it's not the only one that's not been given the sale price treatment.

Decorations

Autumn Creek - 12 Farm Cash (down from 15)
October Picnic - 3 Farm Cash
Flowery Picket - 5,000 coins
Porch Swing - 50,000 coins
Tree Arch - 10,000 coins

As I said before, here's another set of items that haven't been given sale prices. While this is expected with coin items, as coins are free to come by, I am surprised that the October Picnic hasn't been priced at 1 or 2 Farm Cash instead of 3, just so it too could be "on sale." Either way, make sure to check your storage for a Tree Arch, as it's been released before in previous events. Also, while an item called the "Porch Swing" has been released before, please note that this item is different.

As usual, all of these items are on a time limit, and will only be around for the the next 13 days. Happy farming!

Which of these items will you purchase for your farms? Have you been using these Lighthouse Cove items on other farms as simply decorations, or are you keeping them on your new farm? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille: Limited edition Cows come back to the barnyard (again)

No, you're not experiencing deja vu farmers, Zynga has yet again re-released a set of cows into FarmVille, giving you guys a chance to fill your collections in anticipation of what looks to be a Cow-centric breeding habitat coming to the farm. We last saw some of these Cows back in August, when Animal Mastery hit the farm, but there are some different options for your shopping pleasure this time around.

As usual, you'll only have a week to do any shopping associated with this re-release of Cows, so here's a complete look at those that have been re-released:

Autumn Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Blue Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Robot Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Western Longhorn - 20 Farm Cash
Devon Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Mohawk Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Fairy Cow - 24 Farm Cash
Hereford Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Highland Cow - 22 Farm Cash
Chrome Cow - 24 Farm Cash

Unfortunately, there aren't any coin-only Cows in this update, so you'll have to spend some of your hard-earned Farm Cash to stock up on any of these animals. Unlike previous animal habitats, the upcoming Cow building will allow you to breed Calves, rather that duplicates of these Cows, so if you don't want to waste time waiting for those Calves to grow inside your Nursery Barn, you might want to buy these Cows as is.

We'll make sure to let you know when the next animal habitat launches in the game, and hopefully we'll be able to bring you the news very, very soon.

Will you purchase any of these Cows for your farms, even if you don't place them in a storage building? Which ones are your favorites? Sound off in the comments.

3 Blokes launches strategic assault on Facebook with Galactic Allies

We can almost hear the 3 Blokes team in Australia screaming "Fire everything!" as they hit the proverbial "Launch" button on its first Facebook game under publisher RockYou, Galactic Allies. (It would be most appropriate, no?) Real-time strategy fans can jump in on the thrill of space-faring, asynchronous player vs player combat, complete with 3D visuals.

Essentially, Galactic Allies is RockYou and 3 Blokes's answer to the growing trend of hardcore strategy games on Facebook. However, the duo make a point of mentioning that this is a more casual approach to the burgeoning sub genre, and that the game features a heavy focus on an episodic storyline. And in keeping with current trends sparked by developers like Kixeye in War Commander, players can control units individually.
Gallery: Galactic Allies on Facebook
This means you'll likely be able to maneuver your starships around enemy fire, adding another layer of strategy to combat in the game. "Galactic Allies alters expectations for what a Facebook game can be," said 3 Blokes VP and GM George Fidler in a release. "It's a deep and compelling strategy game, but with the accessibility of a browser game." (It also looks like it takes the general idea behind Galactic Trader, one of 3 Blokes's first games, and blows it wide open using some familiar art assets.)

Hopefully this accessible approach will apply to the litany of upgrades players will accumulate across various missions and episodes. Judging from these early screen shots, it looks like Galactic Allies will focus heavily on dialog, but more importantly: Battles will take place both on the surface of alien planets and far above them in the infinite void. In other words, there will be plenty of things high and low to make go boom in Galactic Allies.

Could Adobe Flash 11 make 3D the norm in Facebook games? [Video]

Well, it's certainly a possibility. VentureBeat reports that Adobe Flash, the software used by developers to create most of the Facebook games you play right now, will be updated to Version 11 this October. The new version of Flash will include something gamers, critics and industry folk alike have clamored for: 3D graphics. Namely, 3D graphics with no downloads.

San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe's goal is to get 3D gaming in front of 1 billion online gamers. Adobe evangelist Andrew Trice said that this new version of Flash can easily integrate with Facebook's social features. This could help bring (in theory) Adobe's vision of "the game console on the web" to life.

"With this milestone release Adobe pushes the envelope of what is possible on the web with a typical PC and opens up a new world of immersive, high-performance gaming experiences," said Adobe VP and GM of Platform Danny Winokur. Adobe should reworded that statement to say "Facebook" rather than "PC," because that's exactly where the company seems to be looking.

Another part of Adobe's announcement worth noting is that through its Adobe Air software, developers will be able to create games that are cross-platform--even on Apple's iOS, which is notorious for omitting Flash support from its iOS devices. This means that (again, in theory) you could enjoy social games that look and play no different on Facebook than on your iPhone.

And they'll both be directly connected, because (for a third time, in theory) they would be the same exact game. In fact, the company looks to have Adobe Air-powered games on over 1 billion mobile devices by 2015. But whether 3D gaming will become the norm on Facebook is ultimately up to the developers, some of which have turned to software like Unity to make it happen.

However, Unity requires a download from the user to work, something not many Facebook gamers are down with. This is especially considering how wary users like FarmVille fans are already of developers potentially encroaching on their privacy. The fact that 3D gaming in Flash will require no download is certainly a boon against its 3D competitors.

If developers take full advantage of this brand spankin' new Flash, it has the potential to push Facebook gaming into the same arena as console gaming. You know, if HTML5 doesn't take off first. The video below shows what your Facebook games could be like in the not-so-distant future with Adobe Flash 11.

Go on a Buddy Rush between Facebook, iPhone and now Android

Now, that's what I call cross-platform. Budang, South Korea-based Team Sollmo announced that Buddy Rush, its RPG (role-playing game) in which players can use the same adventurer between Facebook and iOS devices, has hit Android devices. What this means is that now, you can access the very same game with your very same character across all three platforms.

"We've been truly honored by the reception Buddy Rush has received thus far, reaching hundreds of thousands of users on Facebook and the Apple App Store," said Company100 (the game's publisher) President Jin Cheon Kim in a release. "With the launch on Android, we're proud to offer Buddy Rush to the vast majority of smartphone owners and establish ourselves as the first to offer an RPG with true cross-platform capabilities across these popular gaming channels."

If Buddy Rush for Android is anything like it is on both Facebook and iOS devices, which we assume it is given Kim's wording, then this is essentially the same game offered across all three modes of play.

Players can take the character they're used to dungeon crawling with on Facebook, play with it a bit on their Android phone, conquer some more monsters on, say, their iPod Touch and proceed to enter yet another battle with the baddies back on Facebook.
Gallery: Buddy Rush
While it's largely a single player experience, Buddy Rush allows players to take their friends' characters asynchronously on adventures like in most Facebook games of its kind. (The main draw, of course, being that you can do so across three platforms with the same character, and arguably whenever.) So, it pays to have lots of friends in this game that I likened to a saccharine take on Blizzard's popular if terribly dark Diablo RPGs. And now that it's on yet another gaming platform, you have no excuse.

Mobile social game taps into 700K player base for children's charity

What do you do when you're a well-respected mobile game with 700K players worldwide? You design a virtual soup can helmet and sell it to your players for charity! At least, that's what Per Blue's Parallel Kingdom is doing (with Playmob) for the SOS Children relief in North Kenya.

SOS Children's Villages is an independently operated, international organization that's been saving kids since 1949. Currently, funds are needed for emergency food and medical aid due to a severe drought in the area. Soup Can Helmets cost 550 Food each (the virtual currency of Parallel Kingdom), which is the equivalent of $5.50 USD and enough to feed three children. Since the helmet is priced with Food, it's possible for you to not spend any real money on the helmet for it to still count. (In fact, for those of you who haven't liked the game's Facebook page yet, there's a free 100 Food offer that you can use towards a helmet purchase.)

According to Per Blue, this charity drive is at its halfway point with only a week left to go. So far, 550 Soup Can Helmets have been sold, which means 1,650 children have been cared for. If you play the game, you can buy the Soup Can Helmet in the PK Swag section of your local Trade Post until September 29.
Parallel Kingdom Donate Food
If you're new to the game and feeling adventurous, then after the tutorial stage, click on the Food tab on the bottom of your game screen to reach the Get Food menu. You'll see the Donate Food option, but it's really just a notice for the charity drive. Instead, you need to go to Travel, click on a Trade Hub (the one in Madison, WI is one of the two biggest ones), and locate your Local Trade Post, which should be a white building with a red roof buried under a dozen other players who are represented as little heads. Finally, you need to be at Level 2 to be allowed to purchase the helmet. (If you get lost, fire up the in-game chat. Special thanks goes to MisMoon, MoldyBanana, and ZeroGr@vity for their help.)
Parallel Kingdom Trade Post
Parallel Kingdom is best described as FourSquare meets a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game). It surpassed a half million players in June, was voted 2009 Best Augmented Reality App Second Place (first place went to XMG Studio Inc.'s Pandemica) and 2009 Best MMO Game Third Place (beaten by ngmoco's Eliminate Pro, with Miraphonic's Epic Pet Wars in first place). Although Parallel Kingdom is not a true Facebook game (its Facebook game app simply links you to register on the website), it does possess Facebook Connect and can be played on your PC with a web browser.

Putting the 'face' in Facebook games: Arkadium and Image Metrics

Arkadium is likely best known on Facebook for games like Mahjongg Dimensions and Cooking Mama, but that's about to change. Thanks to a brand new partnership with Image Metrics, an animation studio best known for the facial capture technology it provides to traditional game developers, your own face could be the star of Arkadium's next Facebook game.

During an interview with Gamasutra, the new found duo revealed Portable You, a new toolset for Facebook game developers--starting with New York City-based Arkadium--to allow players to include their own face as the centerpiece of their avatars. Using a simple webcam, Portable You, embedded in any given Facebook, could create a 3D rendering of your head and face.

By the way, that picture to the right is a 3D reproduction of an actress's face done by Image Metrics--it's not real. But we doubt Portable You will be as powerful. This is especially considering the technology was bought through an acquisition of Big Stage earlier this year.

"Mostly we've been the user of our own technologies," Image Metrics CEO Robert Gehorsam said to Gamasutra. "But we've also really come to realize and believe there's a major shift going on in how people want to represent themselves, express themselves and communicate online, starting with creating your own character in a game."

"We work directly from video; we don't require any kind of markers, or the special makeup," Gehorsam told Gamasutra. "We can go directly from a video screen or from a single image to 3D animation... through a whole bunch of equations that recognize the face in a 2D context. It's not a photo; it's really 3D."

Sure, this has the potential to introduce a never-before-seen level of immersion to Facebook games. The idea of representing or expressing yourself more accurately than ever has plenty of charm. But the more pressing question I have for Image Metrics is: How well does Portable You render beards?

What do you think this type of technology means for Facebook games in the future? Would you ever place a 3D version of yourself into your favorite Facebook games? Sound off in the comments. Add CommentAdd Comment

FarmVille: Free Crab Shack with any Farm Cash purchase

While the "free-gift-with-purchase" feature in FarmVille has continued to grow, giving users a way to stock up on extra animals that they may have missed in their original releases in the game, until recently, that's all the feature has been: a way to earn animals. Now, though, we're starting to see trees and even buildings come into the mix.

For example, the latest offering is the Crab Shack, which was originally released during the New England event way back in July of 2010, and then again in the Birthday Classics even earlier this year. Interestingly, this is one building that cost coins during its previous releases in the game, but if (for whatever reason) you never picked one up, here's a chance to earn one for as little as $1. For that price, remember you'll also earn 4 Farm Cash.

The reason this building is so significant is that it basically screams to be added to the Lighthouse Cove farm, which all players were given access to earlier this week. And since we can't (as of this writing) pull items out of storage from our others farms into the Lighthouse Cove, this is as close as you're going to get to having any of this theme on your land for the foreseeable future.

As usual, this free Crab Shack offer will only be around for a limited time, so make sure to login to your farm sooner, rather than later, if you want to take advantage of this deal.

Will you purchase a Farm Cash bundle as part of this free-gift-with-purchase giveaway? Would you pay Farm Cash to access your "other farm" storage in the Lighthouse Cove? Sound off in the comments.

Pioneer Trail survey reveals possible storylines involving... pirates?

Yes, you read that correctly - pirates. They may be coming to the Pioneer Trail in the future, if a recent fan survey (released by the big Z itself on the Pioneer Trail fan page) comes true. We've been given quite a few options to toss around in this new survey, but unfortunately, we're not told if these are story ideas that would pertain to Pioneer Trail itself (either the Homestead or actual Pioneer Trail portion of the game), or if this is just a general survey about future game ideas that Zynga is exploring. As it stands, no other fan page, as of this writing, has linked to the survey, which does give some weight to the former idea above.

As for this pirate story itself, we're told that we could "set sail for Booty Island," and play pirates with a full crew. We'll plunder ships and neighbors' islands, and can match up friends with others (this portion is lacking in fine details) for either love or "pirate mischief." If that isn't a wild enough storyline, then how about heading into space? In this storyline, we'd find ourselves crash-landing on an "uncharted planet," where we're forced to build a farm using alien plants or creatures (that is, instead of Cows or other traditional farm animals).

When it comes to this space storyline, I'm reminded of Astro Ranch on iPhone, which is a space-themed farming game allowing you to grow crops and livestock with the help of aliens. As we all know Zynga likes to cop---err, draw inspiration from other titles, could this be a definite game in Zynga's development cycle?

As with all things, we're left to speculate about which of these storylines/game ideas (or lack thereof) will actually come to light, but if you see something in the survey that you're more excited about than others, make sure to give it your vote. Who knows? Your vote could be the deciding factor between playing pirates and launching off into outer space, whether we do so with our Pioneer Trail characters, or in a whole new game.

What do you think of these new storyline ideas? Which ones did you vote for? Let us know in the comments.

Cafe World Pee Wee Chefs Goals: Everything you need to know

Here's a new Cafe World storyline for you: Your cafe has sponsored a Little League team, and it's now your responsibility to feed all of your little players before (and apparently after) the big game. This is, of course, done through a new goal series, an eight-part goal series, to be exact, called the Pee Wee Chefs.

Unfortunately, this is another one of those goal sets that will require you to cook dishes that may be different from those listed in our guide, and there's no way for us to personally guarantee which dish each chef will end up having to cook (sorry). The Cafe World team has stated before that when it comes to goals like these, the overall cooking time for each player will be the same, but you may have to cook varying cooking-time dishes to get there in the end. Either way, here's a complete rundown of the sorts of dishes you can expect to cook.

The Pee Wee Chefs 1

    * Serve 10 Buttermilk Pancakes
    * Serve 10 Belgian Waffles
    * Ask for 5 Baseballs

Right off the bat (no pun intended), we're given the basic Cafe World goal requirements of cooking dishes and asking your friends to send you items. You'll receive a free Team Photo wall decoration for completing this first goal.

The Pee Wee Chefs 2

    * Serve Pizza Margherita 30 Times
    * Serve Pepperoni Pizza 20 Times
    * Ask for 10 Catcher's Masks

For completing this goal, you'll receive the first of three new recipes for this goal series: the Banana Split.

The Pee Wee Chefs 3

    * Serve Deep Fried Ice Cream 5 Times
    * Serve 45 Caramel Apples
    * Ask for 8 Aluminum Bats

Remember, as you're tasked with cooking all of these dishes (regardless of the appliance you're forced to use), make sure you check your Gift Box for any left-over servings that could speed up your progress considerably, or to use any spices that you might have lying around to really give things a boost.

The Pee Wee Chefs 4

    * Serve 40 Cocktail Weenies
    * Serve 30 In Flight Meals
    * Ask for 12 Baseballs

For this task, we're not sure if the Baseballs will be cumulative (that is, making you only ask for seven more, since you already gathered five at the beginning of this series), or if you'll have to start from scratch. Keep that second possibility in mind either way.

The Pee Wee Chefs 5

    * Serve 40 Fruit and Jelly Molds
    * Serve 30 Kabayaki
    * Ask for 6 Catcher's Masks

While these past two goals may not have been very creative (alright, the entire goal series is fairly lacking in that area), you will earn another new recipe for making it to this point: Blue Cotton Candy.

The Pee Wee Chefs 6

    * Serve 20 Chickens and Forty Cloves
    * Serve 30 Belgian Waffles
    * Ask for 5 Aluminum Bats

The Pee Wee Chefs 7

    * Serve Pulled Pork 4 Times
    * Serve Tangy BBQ Chicken 8 Times
    * Ask for 12 Logo Hats

As usual, just keep asking your friends for these Logo Hats (and the Aluminum Bats above), and you'll eventually slog your way through these goals to the end.

The Pee Wee Chefs 8

    * Serve 8 Meat Craver's Pizzas
    * Serve 40 Funnel Cakes
    * Ask for 12 Team Jerseys

Your reward for completing this entire goal series is a final new recipe: The Giant Chili Dog.

As of this writing, there doesn't seem to be a time limit for completing these goals, so feel free to finish whatever you're working on, and then move onto these when you have the time.

Adventure World Deep Jungle Quests: Everything you need to know

As we've told you before, Zynga's newest Facebook game Adventure World comes with it tons of new maps, taking you through the dense jungles and even through dark and gloomy caves while trying to gain access to the lost city of El Dorado. Early on in the gameplay (via the game's tutorial), you're given the Master Key to opening El Dorado, but are slowed when you realize that before the key will turn, you'll need to find and replace four idols to the surrounding pillars. The first idol is the Monkey Idol, and you'll unlock access to completing this new adventure as soon as you gather three friends to help, along with some supplies in the form of Food, Fuel and Water.

This new adventure takes place in an area known as the Deep Jungle. Just like an Expedition, this Deep Jungle area contains quests within itself (side-quests, if you will) that can also be completed as you go along. Your overall goal, yes, it to collect the Monkey Idol, but there's so much more to it than that. Here's a guide to surviving the Deep Jungle, and coming back with the Monkey Idol in one piece.

Main Quests in the Deep Jungle

Find the Monkey Idol, Part 1

Recover the Monkey Idol

Of course, the Monkey Idol can't just be right as you walk in the door, but is instead on the far side of this massive map. There are plenty of cloud covering your view, traps to disarm and snakes to kill, but if you can continually wait for your energy to recharge, you'll eventually make it to the end to "recover" this Idol. Here's a picture of it for your reference.

Find the Monkey Idol, Part 2

Recover the Idol... Quick!

Ok, so maybe that last idol was fake. And maybe you're now stuck in a pit full of snakes underground, but that's nothing you can't handle, right? As the quest window tells you, the real Monkey Idol is behind the wall in front of you, so clear out the snakes in the pit and use your Master Key on the keyhole in front of you. This cases the wall to drop, revealing the real Monkey Idol!

Find the Monkey Idol, Part 3

Return to Base Camp
Place the Monkey Idol

At this point, you will have completed the main quests for Deep Jungle, but it should be noted that you can click on the first, false Monkey Idol at any time, but will not have a chance to go back and complete the side quests below after that point. Continue only when you feel that you've completed everything you wanted to. Note: If this changes in the future, we'll make sure to let you know.

Deep Jungle Side Quests

Hungry Monkeys!

Harvest 4 Banana Trees
Feed Bananas to 4 Monkeys

Banana Trees tend to be found in the far corners of the map, or in areas that are otherwise hard to get to due to tons of bushes or snakes. Here's a picture of them for your reference.

Gather Rare Flowers

Collect 5 Blue Flowers
Collect 5 Orange Flowers
Collect 5 Pink Flowers

These flowers are scattered throughout the map, so just keep an eye on when clearing bushes or whacking snakes to see if you notice any flowers nearby.

Snake Handling

Defeat 5 Bush Snakes
Defeat 5 Quick Snakes
Hire a Friend to Help
Luckily, you can complete all of these tasks on your own, so don't panic about the "hiring a friend" bit. Since you already had to ask for three friends' help before even starting these quests, you'll then see your three friends scattered through the map waiting for you to call on them. Just click on their picture and then click on the "Hire" button that appears. You'll then "take control" of that friend's avatar, and can perform three actions with the tools they currently have in their own game. That is, if they're a much higher level than you, and have upgraded tools, you'll gain the power of those tool for your short time with them in the game. Just hire one friend and you'll complete this task. As for the other two, remember that Quick Snakes are those that roam freely, while Bush Snakes hide inside bushes that shake.

Society Work

Get 5 Jade Vases
Get 3 Red Vases
Get 2 Azure Skulls
Get a Leafy Reinforcement from the Arrowhead Collection

Like in most other maps, we're asked to collect Jade and Red Vases, which are scattered randomly throughout the map. If you don't think they're worth collecting, due to the energy you'll "waste" doing so, keep in mind that collecting these type of items normally give you free energy in return (sometimes more than you spent), so it's definitely worthwhile. As for the Leafy Reinforcement, you can earn it in any Jungle Map at random - so, something like Snake Marsh, for instance. I suppose, then, you could also earn it while going through the Deep Jungle, but I would be surprised if they made it that easy.

With these story-based quests, there's no time limit for completing them, so if you're currently in the middle of an Expedition, feel free to go and complete it before your time runs out instead of rushing through these quests. The Monkey Idol will be waiting for you when you're ready for it, and hopefully you'll have earned some much better tools to help you get there faster. Happy exploring!

FarmVille Sneak Peek: Lighthouse Cove Barn and Garage

If you were starting to doubt just how functional the upcoming Lighthouse Cove farm in FarmVille would be, some of those fears should be put to rest with Zynga's newest teaser image. While this is the same section of the farm that we've seen time and time again (with the mermaid, whale and boat dock), this picture also shows us what's going a bit further to the west, in the form of the farm's barn and garage (the red and blue buildings, respectively).

The text for this teaser image states that we'll be able to "[r]estore the cove, create a thriving restaurant, master your animals and crops and complete the ultimate farming cove experience with the coastal lighthouse!"

Of course, we already brought you details on this restaurant, in that it will be this third farm's Crafting Cottage, but the idea of restoring the cove is an interesting one. Perhaps this will be more like the English Countryside than not, seeing us fix the Barn and Garage using excess building parts, rather than starting them from scratch. Whatever the case, this farmer is incredibly excited to see more, and we'll make sure to let you know all additional details surrounding Lighthouse Cove as we know more.

Do you think we'll have to fix buildings in Lighthouse Cove, or could this "restore" wording deal with repairing the lighthouse or boat dock - things that are unique to this third farm? Speculate with us in the comments!

FarmVille Mystery Game (09/11/11): Aviary animals take flight for one week only

You have to hand it to the FarmVille team at Zynga - when they release a new feature in FarmVille (in this case the Aviary), they are quick to release plenty of animals to fill it. That idea has been carried into this week's Mystery Game, as seven birds are available in the now regular setup of "win all six regular animals, and you'll win a free prize."

To be specific, the six available birds contain those that we gave you a sneak peek of earlier, along with a cute chubby yellow bird that is easily one of the cutest animals I've ever seen in the game. Here's a complete list of the available birds:

Blue Sumatra Rooster
Araucana Chicken
Dabbler Duck
Ancona Duck
Sebastopol Goose
Orpington Chicken

Each dart for this week's game costs 20 Farm Cash, and while you may end up having to pay more than 120 Farm Cash to earn all six of the above birds, if you can complete the collection, you'll receive the Black Necked Swan as a free gift. Actually, the word "free" doesn't really fit here, after all of the Farm Cash you've spent to earn the Swan, but I digress. She'll be there waiting for you, if you want to earn her, but only for one week, when the birds of this Mystery Game will take flight.

What do you think of the birds in this week's Mystery Game? Will you try to earn all of the birds so you can walk away with the Black Necked Swan? Let us know in the comments.

FarmVille Raffle Booth (09/11/11): Orchard and Unwithers top the prize list

In this week's installment of the FarmVille Raffle Booth, we actually see the prize list switched a bit. While some of the most basic prizes remain (Special Delivery Boxes, for one), the top two prizes are fairly useful for FarmVille that enjoy function over style. Here's a full list of this week's available prizes, along with your odds of winning them:

10 Special Delivery Boxes - 1:5
3 Fertilize Alls - 1:20
5 Love Potions - 1:100
3 Unwithers - 1:500
1 Fully Built Orchard - 1:2000

Just to clarify, this Orchard is fully built, making it a 30 Farm Cash value, if you were to purchase this pre-constructed Orchard from the store, rather than building it yourself. Honestly, I've never had the luck of winning anything better than the "worst" two prizes in these Raffles, but hopefully you'll have better luck with walking away with these Unwithers, the Orchard, or both!

As usual, you can earn more Raffle Tickets either by purchasing them for Farm Cash, or by asking your friends to send them to you. You'll also receive a single Raffle Ticket for free to give you at least one chance at winning. Remember, this week's Raffle drawing goes on for just that long - a week. This time next Sunday, a new set of items will be launched in the Raffle, and you'll get to see if you'll walk away empty handed. Good luck!

What do you think of this Orchard being offered as the "grand prize" in this week's raffle? Are the unwithers a better prize, or do you not appreciate either being given away? Sound off in the comments.

FarmVille Animal Sanctuary Items: Melaleuca Tree, Zebra Unicorn, Zoo Lodge and more

Whether you're growing tired of the Animal Sanctuary theme in FarmVille, or if you've been eagerly awaiting more, the market has been updated this evening with even more items in the theme for your shopping (or just browsing) pleasure. There are new animals, trees and more available to choose from, and as usual, we're here to give you a breakdown of each and every item released this evening, so you can make the most educated shopping experiences possible (because, let's face it - that Farm Cash doesn't come cheap).

Trees

Eucalyptus Tree - 7 Farm Cash
Melaleuca Tree - 15 Farm Cash

In this case, the Eucalyptus Tree is the level one tree, allowing you to save those 15 Farm Cash and earn a Melaleuca Tree (or two... or ten) for free via Mystery Seedlings either grown in your own Orchards, or claimed from friends' wall posts. As usual, both of these trees can be mastered, with the first star coming at 75 harvests (each).

Animals

Zebra Unicorn - 30 Farm Cash
Sloth Bear - 12 Farm Cash

Yes, I said it --err, typed it. A unicorn is available with tonight's update, which should make horse and unicorn collectors alike really excited. As with most other unicorns, the price here is pretty high, but I suppose that's the price you pay for a zebra-striped unicorn with a baby blue mane. Also, if you happen to login to your game and see prices that are different from those mentioned and pictured here, keep in mind that Zynga likes to "price test," to see just how high they can price an item and still have users pay the fee. You may have just come across one such test, so don't be alarmed - a single price will be decided upon soon enough, I'm sure.

Buildings

Zoo Lodge - 20 Farm Cash

This building doesn't necessary scream of being perfect for a zoo, but it has the "lodge" portion down. This fairly large building has an angled ceiling with skylights that make it an interesting sight to say the least. You'll receive 2,000 experience points for purchasing one.

Decorations:

Aviary Fence - 5,000 coins
Koala Bear Gnome - 15 Farm Cash
Crocodile Pond - 16 Farm Cash
Hummock Grassland - 10,000 coins

Alright, let's just take a moment to look at how cute the Koala Bear Gnome is - adorable, isn't he? Now that our moment is over, we can get back to the topic at hand: at least there are two coin items here, unlike previous releases, but unless you plan on creating some farm art with these fence tiles, you'll likely not feel that counts. Still, the pieces of Hummock Grassland look really nice next to one another, so if you're looking for a way to change the appearance of a large section of land, and don't mind losing the ability to place anything on top (say, if this land were in a garden or animal pen), feel free to buy them in bulk.

All of these items will be available to purchase from the game's store for the next two weeks. Hopefully, in that time, we'll see even more coin items released in this theme (or even in a new theme), and we'll make sure to let you know if that's the case.

What do you think of tonight's Animal Sanctuary theme update? Are you a fan of decorating your entire farm surrounding a single theme, or do you keep pockets of different themes all around your farm? Sound off in the comments.

Are you a fan of strategy games on Facebook? How do you think Galactic Allies might size up against its competition? Sound off in the comments. 1 Comment

To go along with the Animal Mastery feature released in Pioneer Trail this weekend, you can now also complete one of three new collections in the game. Two of these collections go with the new animals that have also been released: the Badger and Moose, while the third goes with the 4F Mastery Club itself.

4F Collection

    * Rewards Spring Water and 80 XP

Badger Collection

    * Rewards Free Critter Milk and 120 XP

Moose Collection

    * Free Carrot Juice and 100 XP

As you might expect, you can earn each of these collections' items by tending to the appropriate animals (that is, you'll earn Badger Collection items for tending Badgers, and Moose Collection items for tending Moose), or by collecting the 4F Mastery Club's daily bonus. You'll also have a chance to earn these specific collectibles during the construction of the Mastery Club itself, although I wouldn't expect to receive the full set unless you're really lucky. By the way, if you're that lucky, would you mind letting some of that luck rub off on me?

Are you a fan of the collections in Pioneer Trail and actively try to complete them, or do you just let yourself complete these Collections casually? Let us know in the comments.

Zynga calls game over on 'Wars' game and two others

Before it was known for Pioneer Trail and Empires & Allies, and even before FarmVille and Mafia Wars, Zynga had a large stable of Facebook games in vein of the company's old "Just add 'Wars'" strategy.

One of those games, Fashion Wars, was officially shut down last week, along with Pirates: Rule the Caribbean! and Special Forces.

If this seems a bit last minute to you, it's not. Players were given 90 days to wrap up their affairs in these games. The original announcement of the shutdown occurred on May 23. The games weren't turned off until August 22.

Players who log into Fashion Wars after the shutdown are greeted with the following message:

    Dear Fashion Wars player,

    Our goal at Zynga is to bring players the most fun and engaging social games on the web. Despite a strong community, the popularity of Fashion Wars has declined significantly.

    As of today, Fashion Wars is no longer available to players.

    Zynga is committed to helping Fashion Wars players find a new game to enjoy.

    Thank you for playing Fashion Wars.

    Sincerely,
    Zynga Game Network

Moreover, Zynga put out three official goodbye threads in the forums for each of the games as seen below. These were kept open to posts until August 23, and are available to the public:

    * Pirates: Rule The Caribbean
    * Fashion Wars
    * Special Forces

Zynga Fashion Wars
Pirates: Rule the Caribbean!, according to AppData, once possessed an all-time high of 1.8 million monthly average users. This is followed in size by Fashion Wars with 1.5 million MAU, then Special Forces with 800K MAU.

Zynga's Adventure World gives Facebook the Indiana Jones treatment

Going on a trek with your buddies down the Pioneer Trail is a hoot and all, but how about something more ... adventurous? Adventure World, Zynga's next big Facebook game, will give you just that. This brand new Zynga game will launch soon with what appears to be a slightly new take on what Facebook games are all about.

We already know, based on the action-packed trailer below, that players will journey through multiple tropical, volcanic and even ancient environments with their friends. Wild beasts, traps and puzzles will be thrown at eager adventurers as they traverse what looks to be a litany of detailed, animated locales.

Speaking of animation, look at what these explorers are doing: climbing ropes, triggering traps and leaping around levels. This game already looks more action-packed than possibly even Empires & Allies--and I didn't see one tank in that trailer. (And is that the voice of Duke Nukem, John St. John, narrating?)

More questions completely different from these will be answered in the coming weeks on Adventure World's Facebook page. Until then, sit back and enjoy the cel-shaded, '30s comic style characters run and jump around what looks to be Indie Jones's stomping grounds. Soon enough, we'll have more than just a trailer to show you about Adventure World.

A Twix bar, Facebook and Breakout combined makes FeedBreaker

You know, at least advergames have become more entertaining as of late on Facebook. Keeping the much-preferred tradition alive is Twix and Matmi's FeedBreaker, a Breakout-inspired game in which players control a Twix bar to continually bounce a white ball into blocks. Yeah, it sounds entirely too familiar, but what advergame hasn't?

And, if it's fun ... meh. Matmi, a Manchester, UK-based design firm, has experience creating branded social and online games for everyone from Nokia to Iron Maiden. (You know, the hair metal band?)

Designed by Matmi both to get you to buy a Twix bar and to mildly entertain you with familiar but branded gameplay, FeedBreaker has players essentially playing Breakout (Arkanoid ring a bell for anyone?) to delicious candy bars and thumping techno beats.

The brick-breaking, which can be controlled through either your mouse or keyboard, hasn't changed one bit. What has changed is the inclusion of "Social Bricks," which will be adorned with your Facebook friends' faces at random.

When destroyed, the game will take that friend's most recent status update and feed it through a marquee below the moving Twix bar. It's an interesting social twist on a tired genre (both advergames and Breakout), at least.

Twix FeedBreaker in action
Oh, and the game has nifty power-ups like stretching paddles, double balls, and multiple paddles to play with. (Though, the game also has power-downs, so watch out.) As players progress in the game, they can gift power-ups or power-downs to their friends. Throw in some achievements and you got yourself a fine way to waste a few minutes ... and get really hungry. If you'll excuse me.

The Secret World MMO plots mysterious Facebook advergame

Unleashing one incredible trailer after another, EA and Funcom's The Secret World is an MMO (massive multiplayer online) set for Windows-based PCs and (possibly) Xbox 360. Standing outside your typical MMO, the game seeks to do away with levels and classes, focusing instead on skills and abilities. There's an overarching storyline and side quests among three ancient, rival organizations banding together to save the world from evil. It's all very modern, urban, and full of super dramatic secret stuff.

Gallery: Secret War: Personality test for beta registration

While it isn't clear if the game will be launching on Facebook, beta registrations for a "Phase One" Facebook social game called "Secret War" have opened up online. Prospective applicants just need to sign up on the official website after taking a personality test to decide which of the three factions you'll play -- the Dragons, Templars, or Illuminati.

Trailers for each group were released, represented by the following characters, "The Firestarter" (her milkshake brings all the demons to the yard), "The Puritan" (holy shotgun, Batman!), and "Alex McCall" (who doesn't care if he's a John Constantine knockoff, because at least he's not being played by Keanu Reeves).

The Secret War on Facebook
You'll also have the option to register for the beta without Facebook, but Facebook is the one that promises to deliver "the full experience". The Secret World MMO itself is set for release on April 2012. To keep track of this game and interact with other excited fans, follow its official fan page here. A direct link to the Secret War app is here.

NASA to create space-themed social game combining in-depth education with fun

A few years ago, NASA held a research challenge looking for a developer and game proposal for an educational, space-themed video game that could not only be extremely educational, but also fun and commercially viable. Now, four years later, we've started to see the fruits of that challenge, as Canadian developer Project Whitecard has created a Kickstarter video preview, asking the public at large for donations to boost the project along (for the record, its goal has already been met).

The game is called Astronaut: Moon, Mars & Beyond, and it will play like an MMO set in the year 2035. Space flight for the average citizen is now not only available, but actually encouraged, as players will make their way through our solar system (and potentially beyond), landing on Mars and exploring other celestial bodies with both friends and strangers alike. In the game's story, a threat to "civilization as we know it" has emerged, and you'll need to build a base somewhere in outer space (yes, Mars is an option) and eventually outfit a team of other players or potentially NPCs (non-player characters) with high-tech gear to fight back.

Astronauts is described by the developers as being Harry Potter in space, as players are centered around the Arthur C. Clarke Astronaut Academy Station, which is the game's version of "Hogwarts." We'll be assigned missions in this fictional version of outer space, and can then go about our business in either player vs. environment or team vs. team modes. True scientific challenges will appear in the game, as we'll need to worry about radiation, extreme heat or cold and other elements that true-to-life astronauts and NASA as a whole must deal with everyday.

If everything goes well for Project Whitecard, we can expect to see the full launch of Astronaut: Moon, Mars & Beyond on PC, Mac and iOS in December of 2012. Sure, that's a long time to wait, but hey - space is a pretty big place to recreate.

[Via Mashable]

Are you interested in trying out Astronaut: Moon, Mars & Beyond when it launches? Will you donate any money to the cause of helping the game reach final production? FarmVille Aviary Mystery Box offers re-released birds for your new habitat

If the re-released birds that have hit the FarmVille marketplace tonight aren't enough to stock your new Aviary habitat to capacity, why not take a look at the new Aviary Mystery Box that's also launched in the game? The Aviary Mystery Box contains re-released birds, with some of these birds having originally launched in the game back in March and April of this year. Needless to say, we haven't seen some of them for quite a while, so you'll want to keep them in mind when deciding whether or not to purchase a box.

Each Aviary Mystery Box costs 16 Farm Cash. You unfortunately have no guarantee that you won't end up with duplicates as you go for the complete set of six, but you can thankfully stop at any time should you decide the risk is too great. Here's a list of the six available birds:

    * Chrome Duck
    * White Stork
    * Gray Heron
    * Golfer Duck
    * Gallic Rooster
    * Tufted Duck

Again, these animals can all be stored inside your new Aviary habitat, but if you'd rather leave them outside to show off to your visiting neighbors, feel free to do that as well. Just make sure to purchase this box fast if you want any of the birds inside, as it will only be available for a week.

Will you purchase any of these Aviary Mystery Boxes? If you go for the full set of six, how many duplicates did you receive first? Which of these birds is your favorite? Sound off in the comments.

Game Developers Choice Online Awards Audience Award: Vote for your fave Facebook game

We know, you're miffed that your favorite Facebook game didn't make the cut in the second annual Game Developers Choice Online Awards nominations. Luckily for you, the Audience Award category has finally opened up for voting from the public starting today, Sept. 8, through Sept. 22. All you need to do is head on over to the Audience Award voting page, type in what game--any online game--you think should win, and provide an email address to confirm your vote.

The second annual GDC Online, an Austin, Texas-based online game-centric offshoot of the annual GDC event that takes place annually in San Francisco, is little more than a month away, running Oct. 10-13. The GDC Online Awards will be held on the evening of Oct. 12 in the Austin Convention Center. Now that you know all of the logistics regarding the GDC Online Awards, let's talk a bit about that Audience Award.

Frankly, it can be a little daunting, that blank white box, just waiting for your answer. If you need some help framing your answer deciding on a sound candidate, take a look at the nominees that were already decided upon. If that doesn't help, take a look at this month's Top 25 Facebook Games to see what's hot.

Or, you know, just vote for what game you enjoy best--just make sure it's a Facebook game, kay? League of Legends won the Audience Award last year, and while it's a blast, we can't have that this year ... or we'll miss out on the Facebook royalty checks again. (Before the flaming starts: Jokes, people, just jokes.)

Do you plan on casting a vote for the GDC Online Awards Audience Award? Which game do you think should win the honor? Sound off in the comments. 1 Comment

CityVille Tonga Tower Goals: Everything you need to know

The Eiffel Tower in CityVille has been but a light at the end of a tunnel for many players, a distant one. Now, Zynga has released the second step in unlocking the first Wonder to hit the game, the Tonga Tower.

This brand new Business is a tiki-themed restaurant that will eventually function as the previous Hotels released to the game. Of course, there are some daunting Goals tied directly to its construction. So, without further ado, here' everything you need to know about the Tonga Tower:

First things first, you must be at least Level 30 to access the Tonga Tower and the Goals attached to it. And while you do not have to build the Sailboat Hotel before the Tonga Tower, both are required to access the Eiffel Tower when it finally releases. If you're Level 30 and log into the game, Edgar will appear with a task for you.

Tonga Tower!

    * Place the Tonga Tower

This woefully simple Goal will introduce you to the Tonga Tower. Just click on the Place button in the Goal's window to throw it onto your city. And ... that's it--enjoy the 2 XP that is your reward. (I mean, all you did was place a building, after all.) Placing the Tonga Tower will cause it to appear nearly finished complete with scaffolding. Click on it for your next and final Goal.

CityVille Unlock Tonga Tower
CityVille Tonga Tower completeUnlock the Tonga Tower

    * Gather parts to Unlock Tonga Tower
    * Upgrade one Tiki Business to Level 3
    * Master one Tiki Crop to Level 3

Clicking on the Tonga Tower again after receiving this Goal will open the familiar window when constructing buildings. As per usual, you must ask your friends to send you items, which this time include seven of each these: Drink Umbrellas, Open Coconuts, Ukuleles, Table Mats and Welcome Treats.

The upgraded Businesses that will count toward this Goal are the Song Bird Pet Shop, the Ku Drive-in and the Tonga Room. We suggest you go with the Song Bird Pet Shop, as it's the cheapest option at 150,000 coins and will be ready for collection more often than the others as it holds just 320 Goods. Upgrading a Business is a completely different ball game these days, so check out this post for an idea of how to upgrade Businesses in the new system.

Crop Mastery is as simple as harvesting a given crop a certain amount of times, and you must harvest either the Pineapple or Sugar Cane crop to fulfill this Goal. We recommend going with the Sugar Cane, as it only costs 47 coins per plot, which amounts to 14,100 coins total for Level 3 Mastery. Your reward for this Goal is simple: a finished Tonga Tower, which will function like a normal Hotel once completed.

Adventure World Treasure Trail Expedition: Everything you need to know

So, you've gone through the jungle and have saved your friend Malcolm from the Lost Cave, but you've really only scratched the surface for what Adventure World has to offer. With Zynga's newest Facebook game, we see gameplay that is split into two: you'll have a Base Camp that allows you to earn supplies, build buildings and collect coins (not entirely unlike the Homestead in Pioneer Trail), and can then set out on adventures, or expeditions, that help to further along the main storyline, or just serve as side-quests of sorts.

The first of these expeditions is called Treasure Trail, and it sees you being put in search of an Azure Skull. You'll need to have 600 Supplies to start this expedition (after all, if you're going to be gone from Base Camp for an extended period of time, you'll need the basics like food and water), and will have enough Supplies to last you three days. To be specific, this three day time period is how long you have to finish the entire expedition, but if you follow our guide (and work straight through), you can easily finish it in one sitting. The Treasure Trail has three quests within itself; here's how to complete all three.

Find the Azure Skull!

Recover the Rare Azure Skull

As you might have guessed, this Skull is located at the very end of this particular map, and while the path is mostly linear, there are traps and enemies in the way (Snakes) that hope to stop you from succeeding. As usual, if you ever see a tiki-head with a lever, you'll want to make sure and clear your path to it before doing anything else (particularly walking over those matching tiles on the ground). If you do happen to get stuck, you'll have to waste valuable energy in escaping, so it is in your best interest to go a bit slower to avoid the traps.

Once you get to the end of the map, you'll see the setup above, where you'll need to click on the highlighted button to start a Simon Says game. Click on the three totems in the order you're told and the Azure Skull will lower allowing you to collect it.

Gather the Ruby Vases

Get at least 3 Ruby Vases

These Ruby Vases stand out pretty well against the green of the jungle, and while you can normally save your energy and skip collecting them, in this case they are required. Your first Ruby Vase is located just inside the map's beginning, so knock that shrub out of the way to get to it. The next Ruby Vase is guarded by a Snake and a trap, so make sure to deactivate the trap and eliminate the Snake before focusing your attention on the Vase itself. There are two more vases located even further ahead (one up a hillside, and the other next to the bridge, as seen below), so grab one or both of them to finish this particular quest with ease.

Gather the Jade Vases

Get at least 5 Jade Vases

These Jade Vases are harder to spot (since they're green like most of the map), but the quest works the same as the Red Vase quest above. Just make your way through the shrubs, snakes and traps to gather at least five Jade Vases. Watch out - one Jade Vase is particularly well hidden, to the left of a trap at the top of the map, as seen below.

Once you've finished these three quests, you'll receive your score and expedition/quest mastery points. That's right - you can complete these expeditions again multiple times in order to earn more coins, experience points and so on. That's not the way to eventually progress through the story, but if you need a few more XP before you can level up (and unlock new Expeditions to complete), it's something to keep in mind.

Congratulations on finishing your first real Expedition, adventurers! Keep checking back with us as we break down all of the Expeditions as they become available. Happy exploring!

Cafe World Holly Hostess Stand: Everything you need to know

Earlier tonight, we brought you a complete rundown of the many (many) goals in the Cafe World Engagement Party goal series, which sees Joe and Lisa celebrating their new engagement with friends. Of course, any party with this many guests needs someone to organize the arrivals, which is where Holly Hostess comes into the game. Holly heard about the engagement party we'd be throwing for the couple in our cafes, and has dropped by to help out. Of course, you can't expect this to be a simple affair, as you'll need to first build Holly's Hostess Station so she has a place to stand and work.

This is done by collecting a series of building materials or tools that Holly needs to work. You'll need five Highlighters, six Podium Lamps, seven Toothpicks and seven Table Charts. The Highlighters and Toothpicks are earned through general news feed posts, while the Podium Lamps and Table Charts are earned through individual gift requests sent to your friends.

Once you're done building the Hostess Station for Holly, you'll receive a 20% bonus on all Cafe Points earned in your cafe through cooking and serving dishes. However, this bonus isn't permanent, as it will only last for a single week. After that point, you'll need to use Energy Drinks to "recharge her" as she's become tired. These Energy Drinks can be purchased for Cafe Cash, as you might expect. Should you wish not to recharge her (which is your choice), you can either store the Hostess Stand in case the development team decides to create another use for her, or just use her as a decoration in your cafe.

What do you think of the Holly Hostess Stand / bonus in Cafe World? Will you use Cafe Cash to keep Holly constantly "energized" and ready to work? Sound off in the comments.

Angry Birds 3-16 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-16 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using two angry birds.
Level 3 16 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the ground right in front of you. This bird is useless for this level, so just throw it away, but do NOT take down any of the structure.
  2. Aim the second angry bird to drop his egg bomb right down the middle of the structure. This will get all of the pigs.

Angry Birds 3-17 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-17 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using two angry birds.
Level 3 17 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the inside corner right by the small pig. This will take out the small pig as well as the two big pigs under it.
  2. Aim the second angry bird directly toward the last pig so it smashes through the rocks and explodes to get the last pig.

Angry Birds 3-18 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-18 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using four angry birds.
Level 3 18 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at a high angle to take out the pig on the far right. Do NOT knock over the front structure.
  2. Aim the second angry bird at a low angle to smash straight through the vertical wood blocks on the front structure. This should clear out the front structure as well as getting the pig on the left.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at the rock floor, just to the left of the pig on the far left. It should break through one block of wood and get one pig, leaving a vertical wooden support beam.
  4. Aim the fourth angry bird right at the inside corner of the exposed wooden support beam and drop the egg right before the bird hits. This will get you the last pigs. It needs to be done this way to get enough points for three stars.

Angry Birds 3-19 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-19 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using three angry birds.
Level 3 19 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the top left corner of the indicated stone structure. you want the bird to bounce back to the left to set off the TNT. This will cause a reaction in order to get all but two pigs.
  2. Aim the second angry bird at the round rock on the top right. Sometimes you can have the bird bounce back and take out the helmeted pig, but I always had touble getting enough points with that. I think it is best to just let the round rock take out the big pig on the bottom right.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at the blocks of wood under the last TNT block. That will let you get the last pig and enough points for three stars.

Angry Birds 3-20 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-20 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.
You can get all three stars in this level by only using three angry birds.
Level 3 20 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds
  1. Aim the first angry bird at the top left corner of the structure on the right. You need to take out all five birds on the right side.
  2. Aim the second angry bird and drop it’s egg bomb right in the middle of the main structure to clear out a bit of the rock.
  3. Aim the third angry bird at a high angle to break through the middle of the main structure that you jsut cleared out. Do NOT let the bird get all the way to the ground before exploding. I found it best to detonate it early right as it goes through the ceiling rocks in order to get the last pigs.

Angry Birds 3-21 Walkthrough Guide

This is my walkthrough for the Poached Eggs level 3-21 for the iPhone game Angry Birds.

High Score: 115,850
Difficulty: Hard

You can get all three stars in this level by only using six angry birds.

Level 3 21 Walkthrough for Poached Eggs in Angry Birds

Aim the first angry bird at the inside corner , just past the second helmeted pig. You want to take out one helmeted pig, and one other pig, weakening the structure.
Aim the second angry bird just a tad lower than the first bird. You want it to smash as far into the structure as you can. You want to take out four pigs on the right side of the structure.
Aim the third angry bird in order to weaken the structure right on top of the big pig. It almost seems like this bird was a waste in my pictures and I think the indicated spot should be shifted to the right a little. Anyway, this pig didn’t do too much.
Aim the fourth angry bird into the main structure to take out as many blocks as possible, including the biggest pig.
Aim the fifth angry bird to take out the remaining pig on the left.
Aim the sixth angry bird to take out the remaining pig on the right.
You should have one pig left to give you some bonus points.

Angry Birds Game Rules

Catapulting Birds at little green pigs covered in wooden, glass and metal planks isn’t as silly and easy as you think. You have to fling the birds at the platforms using the perfect angle that could destroy all the green pigs in the level. Much more than this is that you must only use the birds you’re given, no more, no less. Here are some of the best Angry Birds Game rules you ought to know.
  1. Using a slingshot, players launch the birds to hit the pigs directly and damage the structures, which would cause them to collapse and kill the pigs. On each level, the pigs are sheltered by structures made of various materials such as wood, ice and stone, making it harder for you to destroy them.
  2. If you destroy all the green pigs in the level and still have some birds left then they will get you extra points going towards your final level score. If you get a low score, such as using all your birds and not destroy many platforms you will get only one star, but still move on.
  3. As the player advances through the game, additional types of birds become available. These birds have special abilities that are activated by the player after the bird has been launched.
  4. Part of the angry birds game rules is that points are scored for each pig defeated as well as for damage to, or destruction of, structures, and bonus points are awarded for any unused birds.

The Release of Angry Birds Game to Android

The much awaited release of the Angry Birds game for the Android was finally unveiled, and largely under estimated by Rovio itself. It has effectively brought the website to a screeching halt due to the enormous demand and download rate of Android users. Even the independent app store, GetJar, which was given exclusive rights to distribute the game, has had some serious slow down and lag issues due to the games popularity and huge fan base. So much so that GetJar has actually recommended users to visit their mobile website from their phones so that can achieve better download rates and alleviate some of the bandwidth from their main site.
Some may ask what is the big deal over the Angry Birds game being released for the Android. Well, for one it is the most popular and successful paid app from the iPhone market and sold more than seven million copies according to VentureBeat, but mainly the commotion is due because the game is being offered for free in its new ad-supported version. The app is not yet offered as a paid version for those who rather pay and not have the ads, but it is in the works and should be offered and available for download from the Android Market soon.
Rovio’s Peter in an interview about the Angry Birds game said that it was being used more than sixty five million minutes per day with just the iPhone paid app and that now with the release of the Android version he predicts that it will rise to be used over one hundred minutes per day.
When Angry Birds game was released for Android GetJar was given exclusive rights to distribute the game for the first twenty four hours before being released to the Android Market. This is a huge deal to help GetJar, a large crossplatform online app store, get a huge boost to help their online awareness. They have been trying to change that through these types of affiliation and now that have gotten a huge break.
Rovio has shown the strength of the Android population with its release of the Angry Birds game online. Android users are definitely growing in numbers and will most certainly surpass those of the iPhone. When Android was first unveiled I was so happy that there was now a competitor to the iPhone, and what better company to be behind all this than Google. Google is out reaching their never ending amount of tentacles and getting into more and more markets every year. Google is definitely a smart and ambitious company and every product they put out is well made and open source, readily available for developers and even made easy for users who want to venture into the development world. As for the Android the only problem so far seems to be the lack of programing rules and restrictions for making apps because many of the apps on the market are poorly programmed and make the Android powered phones encounter problems; though I’m sure that soon those sub-par programs will be weeded out by good developers making quality bug free applications.
Anyway, back to the Angry Birds game, keep a lookout for new platform releases for all of your computing and entertainment devices. Also, stay tuned here at AngryBirdsGame.biz for the latest information and updates about Angry Birds updates, maybe we’ll get new birds soon, and Rovio latest information.

Angry Birds Game About To Surpass 100 Million Downloads

The #1 mobile app Angry Birds game is continuing to broaden its lead over the competition! Angry Birds game is at the verge of surpassing 100 million downloads, as announced by Rovio at the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. The Angry Birds game has only been out for less than a year and yet it’s stomping on the competition. Rovio, Angry Birds game developer, announced at the conference that it will be surpassing the 100 million download mark in the very near future. Peter Vesterbaka, Rovio’s executive, spoke at the conference and graciously thanked the iPhone for making their success possible. Peter Vesterbaka went on about how Apple allowed for this change in the business and that the iPhone took developers away from the old soviet style of games and giving them so many more fun and exciting avenues for the development. He also mentioned that it’s forcing more and more developers to create good quality games, which has been the legacy of the App Store. He then continued about positive future of the mobile gaming industry boosting that new consoles are making games based on mobile games where up until recently it was always the other way around. And also mentioning that companies that are just porting console games over to mobile doesn’t always work.
With the success of the Angry Birds game through the iPhone it has since been ported over to other platforms such as Android, PC, and iPad, and soon to be available for Windows 7 phones as well as various video game consoles and hand helds.
The fact that Angry Birds game is about to surpass 100 million downloads in less than a year is quite an amazing feat. Of course it’s success is mostly due to its brilliant gameplay, fun theme, and replay value; it’s not to say that Rovio has not put in hard work for its success. Since its original release in December of 2009, Rovio has released several new versions for their fans through the Angry Birds game Seasons package, including Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day (Hogs and Kisses), and soon to be released St. Patrick’s Day theme, and probably an Easter theme! Also, can’t fail to mention the special Angry Birds game Rio version, which is planned to hit the stores sometime this month (March 2011).
With Rovio continuing to work hard and release new content for their Angry Birds game online and as the population of smartphone users grow it’s not hard to imagine that Angry Birds game can reach the 200 million download mark!
Stay tuned with us, Angry Birds Game online, for the latest Angry Birds walkthrough.

Angry Birds Game Flying To Windows Phone 7 And 3D

It is official the Angry Birds game will soon be released to Windows Phone 7, and if that wasn’t enough, Rovio’s Peter Vesterbaka says that a 3D version of the game is also in the works! Yes you heard, or read, right, a 3D version of Angry Birds!
The Angry Birds game coming out for Windows Phone 7 was of course obviously expected, but a 3D version…Rovio is certainly pulling out all the stops and not wasting anytime doing it. As one might imagine the 3D version will more than likely be released for the Nintendo 3DS as well as it will probably eventually be released for the new 3D smartphones in production such as the LG Optimus 3D.
The transformation of the Angry Birds game to a 3D version should not be too big of a deal for Rovio as they have produced 3D games in the past. But it sure is exciting to think how the game will turn out. Maybe there will be like a first person point of view (Angry Bird Point of View) where you’re looking through the birds eyes as he flies through 3D sky blue space and comes crashing down on the greedy green pigs, or also maybe even a “Piggy Point of View” as he watches inevitability come for him, ooooo. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Rovio has yet to announce a release date for neither Windows Phone 7 nor a 3D version, but I am sure it will be sooner than later, Rovio never seems to disappoint. With their hard work, dedication, and fan appreciation, Rovio has sure shown themselves to be a force to be recon with. It’s good to see a deserving company do well, and we can hope that this will be a wake up to other companies in the industry as well as a sign for things to come; quality not quantity, though Rovio seems to have been able to supply both.
